Porcelain Museum - Adrien Dubouché

Limoges

Museum

The Adrien Dubouché Museum was founded in 1845, but it was from 1852, with the arrival of Adrien Dubouché, an exceptional and very generous director (he enhanced the collections with a gift of 4000 ceramic pieces), that the museum experienced a remarkable growth in its influence and supported the porcelain industry in Limoges. The museum displays techniques and objects from the four major families of ceramics: pottery, faience, stoneware, porcelain. It devotes two large sections to Limoges porcelain and China porcelain. It also displays a remarkable collection of glass from the Middle Ages to the 20th century.
