On the first Sunday of every month, apart from at the Porte Dorée Tropical Aquarium in Paris, entry to the National Museums’ permanent collections is free for all visitors.

Coming during the week, outside of the school holidays and avoiding the last hour of opening will give you the best chance of enjoying a quiet visit.

Approval must absolutely be obtained from the management of the museum concerned. Consult the

- Is there a baby change area? A crèche for children in the museums?
Currently, the national museums do not provide this type of facility. We invite you to be as organised as possible to maximise your visit’s enjoyment. Activities and audio guides for children are offered in several museums. Consult the Practical Information section of the museum pages.
- Do the museums have a restaurant or catering facilities?
You can eat in the following museums: Picasso Museum in Paris, Château d’Ecouen Renaissance Museum, Fernand Léger Museum in Biot, Marc Chagall Museum in Nice. Other restaurants will soon be opening, consult the Practical Information section of the museum pages.
- Is there a membership card for the national museums?
At present, there isn’t a membership card to cover all of the national museums, but we do offer some

- What are the GNGP’s opening hours and days?
The Marie-Antoinette exhibition (March 15 – June 30 2008) is open daily from 10am to 10pm, and until 8pm on Thursdays. (Closed on Tuesdays)
The Figuration narrative 1960-1972 exhibition (April 16 – July 12 2008) is open daily from 10am to 8pm, and until 10pm on Wednesdays. (Closed on Tuesdays)
The national galleries will be closed on May 1st and December 25th. (last entry 45 minutes before closure of the exhibition.)

Reservation is compulsory and free. Reservation requests must be made in writing. Contact the group department by telephone on 01 44 13 17 64 or by fax: 01 44 13 17 60 (No groups allowed on Sundays or Bank Holidays.)
- Is there a special disabled entrance?
At door B, located on 3 avenue du Général Eisenhower, is accessible for people with reduced mobility. Wheelchairs are available free of charge.

The atrium is part of the Nave in the Grand Palais which is not run by the National Galleries. It cannot therefore be seen during a visit to the exhibitions of the National Galleries, but it does have its own schedule.

The RMN currently only recruits guides on an on-demand basis. They must have the equivalent of four years of higher education in the History of Art. Applications can be made via the

No, our online shop offering is more generalist than that offered at each site. Each museum bookshop is specialised on its own collections (e.g. that of the Château d’Ecouen on the Middle Ages).
All of them will offer you a wide range based on their own subjects. The boutiquesdemusees.fr website covers the essential stock items from each of the shops and therefore has a more open and representative offer than all of the bookshops.
- Are the prices the same on the Internet as in the bookshops?
Yes, the RMN has an identical pricing policy for both the shops and the website, apart from for promotions. However, promotions can be specific either to the website or the shops.
- How long will I have to wait for delivery once my order is submitted?
Time scales vary according to the dispatch method chosen. By Chronopost in 48 hours, by Collissimo up to four days.

Yes, only the items which are in stock at the time of your order are shown. They are updated in real time.
