Henri IV à Fontainebleau

In bringing together over one hundred works of art (paintings, sculptures, lapidary work, drawings, engravings, books and objets d’art), this exhibition illustrates the great artistic achievements produced at Fontainebleau during the reign of Henri IV. The emblematic works of the Second School of Fontainebleau, enable us to appreciate the artistic creativity that flourished under Henri IV. Although the exhibition focuses on the art history of this period, in which the Chateau of Fontainebleau played a central role, it ends with an evocation of life at the time, in society and at Henri IV’s court.
