Gaston Fébus (1331-1391)

Prince Soleil

Gaston Fébus (1331-1391), Comte de Foix, Vicomte de Béarn and Pyrenean prince was renowned for his wealth, taste for independence and his dazzling court. He was also the author of the celebrated “Book of hunting”, of which numerous illustrated hand-written copies have survived.

The exhibition focuses on this fascinating medieval personality. It will be presented in two complementary parts: one at the Musée de Cluny, Paris, and the other at the Musée du Château de Pau, in spring 2012.
