The Guide Musée d’Orsay

€14.50

This new guide presents the whole of the collections of the museum of Orsay, which open one period going from 1848 to 1914 and gather works belonging to all arts: decorative paintings, sculpture, architecture, photography, arts.

The book also recalls, in a first part, the history of the place and building: initially station of the railroads of Orleans raised by architecture Victor Laloux between 1898 and 1900, then unused with the day before of the Second World war, this building became museum only in 1989, after complete interior repair.
The international glory of the museum of Orsay is due in particular to its collection of impressionist works, most important in the world.
This richly illustrated guide, reproduces many recent acquisitions which did not appear in its old version.
