This CD-Rom allows to discover original and almost unknown Paul Gauguin’s manuscripts: Noa Noa, Ancien culte Mahori and Diverses Choses. They belong to the musee d’Orsay and are preserved in the Louvre.
Previously reserved for consultation by specialists due to their extreme fragility, these masterpieces are now finally available to a wider audience thanks to this new digital medium. While Gauguin is famous for the multiplicity of techniques employed in his art, the fact that he was a prolific and demanding writer is often less well-known: fare more than a sideline to his artistic creativity, writing was for Gauguin a valid means of expression in its own right.
This programm comes with a bilingual booklet that charts the origins of these outstanding works and provides comments on the illustrations.
