Picasso’s Sketchbooks

€19.95

This CD-Rom was created for the exhibition "Picasso: A Passion for Drawing” in 2005 on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Picasso Museum in Paris, for which Pablo Picasso’s sketchbooks were presented.

This CD-Rom, which is available in English, French, Spanish and Catalan, contains complete, full-screen colour facsimiles of six of Picasso’s sketchbooks. Tools enable you to zoom in on the works, to turn them, to access a detailed commentary and to print texts and images. An index and a tile-format search let you easily access the sketchbook and drawing of your choice. The six digitalised sketchbooks were selected from among the 58 that are conserved at the Picasso Museum.
The six sketchbooks are:

- The preparatory sketchbooks for Demoiselles d’Avignon, 1907

- A “classic” sketchbook containing beautiful charcoal studies (nudes, hands, portraits of women) dating from 1922

- A third sketchbook composed of pen-and-ink drawings from the series Baigneuses à la cabine, drawings of bullfights and a few studies for sculptures, 1927

- A sketchbook bringing together charcoal drawings of the artist’s workshop and preparatory drawings for the painting Le Sauvetage, dating from 1934

- A sketchbook of pen, brush and ink drawings including numerous portraits,1942

- Last of all, a veritable masterpiece: a sketchbook containing wax-crayon drawings of the artist’s workshop.
